Rotary District
7500 is proud to announce that this year’s RYLA will be held at
Monmouth University in West Long Branch, NJ,
June 23-26, 2012.
About 160 of the best
youth leaders from Burlington, Monmouth & Ocean Counties in New
Jersey will join a seasoned staff of over 50, to learn and
practice their leadership skills in an atmosphere of acceptance,
discovery and fun.
What is RYLA?
District 7500 RYLA is an intense and fun-filled four-day
leadership training program run by Rotarians and older youth who
have demonstrated superior leadership and training skills,
within RYLA and in their communities. We teach a variety of
leadership skills, such as team-building, problem-solving,
cooperation and communication skills. Our program is designed to
help train ethical, visionary leaders.
The RYLA conference is
planned and run by the Rotary District 7500 RYLA Committee. Each
team of 15 RYLA participants is directly supervised by two or
three counselors, who are typically one to two years older than
the participants, and one Advisor who is typically four to ten
years older than the participants.
Who pays for RYLA?
The cost for each participant in
2012 is $450. This price includes room, meals, a tee shirt and
all program expenses. Usually, participants pay a $25 fee
directly to their Rotary Club to contribute to the cost. Upon
acceptance to RYLA, a member from your sponsoring Rotary Club
will contact you with details about the payment.
What is Rotary?
Rotary is the world’s largest service organization. For the past
100 years Rotary has been working to eliminate poverty,
illiteracy, disease and other social ills, and to promote peace
in the world. Rotary sponsors many programs for youth, such as
Interact, Rotaract, Rotary Youth Exchange, Ambassadorial
Scholarships and many other college scholarships.
