Rotarians
How to Sponsor
Students to RYLA
It’s very easy to sponsor students to RYLA, and the rewards to
the sponsoring Rotary Club are great.
The cost for each student that attends RYLA is $450.
We need each Rotary Club to pay the full amount when they
reserve their spots. Some Clubs choose to charge the students
$25 as a co-pay. We think this is very fair and reasonable and
we have a notice on the Student's side of this site telling them
that this is a common practice, so they will be expecting it.
Some Clubs have the students bring the $25 to the Club when they
visit the Club before RYLA to learn more about Rotary and
introduce themselves to the Rotarians, then give the $25 back to
the student when they visit a 2nd time, after RYLA, to thank the
Rotarians and tell them about their experiences. This is
probably the best way to do it. You get 2 great programs for
only $25/speaker!
-
Decide how many students your Club will sponsor. A member of
the RYLA Coordination Team will contact you soon to get that
number.
-
Forward the ‘Student Email’ to your high school(s). Click
link to view, copy & paste

into your email program.
You may want to send that email to Guidance Counselors, your
Interact Liaison, Interact Officers, School Superintendents,
School Principals, and individual students you happen to know.
You can send copies of the email to as many people as you like,
(or as few as you like) but we think it’s most ‘fair to all
concerned’ to make sure each high school gets at
least one copy of
that email.
3.
Write a check made out to: District 7500 RYLA,
in the amount of $450 for each student you are
sponsoring to RYLA. Your RYLA Contact will tell you
where to send it.
-
The Application deadline is April 1st. Soon after
that we will send you all the Applications that came in from
the high schools in your area. You'll review the
Applications and select which students you want to send to
RYLA.
